Mission

At Pineapple Life we work hard to ensure you not only have the best experience possible but also leverage numerous security practices and controls to prevent unauthorized access to members' data. While we work hard to ensure your safety with Pineapple Life, industry statistics highlight that most security incidents are not due to system controls but due to user behavior.

These safety tips are to help you follow our safety rules and help you ensure your behavior around protecting your data and yourself.

Online Safety Rules

Protect Your Financial Information

While we protect your data on Pineapple Life systems you also have responsibility to protect your financial data. Do not share your financial data with parties that you do not trust. Scammers and fraudsters will attempt to use a variety of techniques to get you to disclose your financial information; emergency requests, posing as people you know needing financial help, posing as a legitimate business such as a bank or a utility company. When you willingly transfer money to a fraudster it is highly unlikely you will get that money back. Never disclose your financial data to a member you meet on Pineapple Life. Just as you wouldn't provide your financial data to a stranger on the street do not provide to a stranger online.

Protect Your Personal Information

Be careful about what you share about yourself with people online. Be judicious about what data and photos you share online. Be diligent about communications that may turn into harassment and stalking, keep information about your financial information private, keep your ID information private, keep places that you frequent or that are part of your daily routine private, and keep your work private. Being careful what you share will help ensure you and your family are safe.

Be Careful When Not on the Pineapple Life Platform

As you are communicating with other Pineapple Life members be careful when you leave the platform and communicate with members on other platforms. Pineapple Life has controls and processes for members to report members, content, and communication for inappropriate behavior or content and can take action when reported. However, once you leave the platform you are not afforded those controls so don't rush to other communication channels until you have gotten to know the member well. If you are being pressed and/or feel uncomfortable when someone pushes you to share information, or move off the platform to communicate, or meet in person you may be dealing with someone that doesn't have your best interest in mind.

Be Careful When Using Pineapple Life in Public Areas

Make sure you are using strong passwords and/or multifactor authentication. Avoid logging in to Pineapple Life from a public device, if you do leverage a public device check that you are logging out and your session information is not stored on the public device. If you get an email request to change your password that you did not request report this immediately. Be aware of your surroundings and those that could view your screen so you don't inadvertently expose your or other members information and content.

Don't accept offensive behavior. You can always report a member or block members if their behavior is unacceptable. Pay close attention to and report requests for money, harassment and/or offensive content or behavior, members that have behaved inappropriately offline, fake profiles, underage users, spam or unwanted solicitation.

If you are meeting someone for the first time you should consider meeting in public places where there are many people. Avoid your home or the members home. Don't feel obligated to meet at a location you feel uncomfortable with.

Tell someone you trust about your meeting plans, dates, locations, times, and how long you expect your meeting to last.

Choose places that you are comfortable with and that you have transporation that you are in control of. This makes it easier for you to leave if you feel uncomfortable.

When meeting people at a group meeting such as a meet and greet get familiar with who has RSVPed to ensure it is a crowd that you would not feel uncomfortable around. Ensure that the meeting organizer is trustworthy and is transparent with attendees on rules for communication and connection. If you can go to a group meeting with a person you trust that is always best, but if not introduce yourself to the organizer so you have formed a relationship for ease of reporting inappropriate behavior. No always means no, and do not hesitate to contact someone you trust at the event if you experience unwanted or inappropriate behavior. You being diligent and reporting at the time not only helps you but the entire meeting.

If you start to feel unsafe at any meeting or event end the meeting immediately. Trust your gut, it is mostly likely right. Your safety is most important. There will always be other meetings and events to attend.

Know your boundries and be clear about your boundries with your partner and those that you meet. Be careful about extending your boundries at the last minute and do not be afraid to use your voice and clarify your boundries should they be questioned or you are being pressured to adjust.

Health and Safety

Be careful about what you ingest. Drugs and alcohol can impair how your feel, judge, and think at the time. Avoid over consuming drugs and alcohol, know your limits where you can enjoy but are still in control. If a person is encouraging you to use drugs or alcohol outside of your tolerances this may be a red flag.

Don't leave your drinks or food unattended. Only consume food and beverages that have been served to you by a bartender, waiter/waitress, or trusted person.

Know your sexual health and status. Know where you and a connection both stand with STIs. Don't be ashamed to have the conversation, STIs can affect everyone.

Some final considerations...

Realize that not all meetings are going to be amazing, but all meetings should be respectful and consensual. Stay positive in the event a meeting or meet and greet didn't hit your expectations and report any meetings originating from the Pineapple Life platform that violate our Terms of Use Policy.

When there is not a match be respectful, close the communication directly and not negatively, be honest direct and polite. Consider how you would like to be treated if there is not a match and attempt to treat others the same.
