I’m a bit oldschool. I mean, I miss the days of riding my bike to the video store and perusing through the videos in each isle — I miss putting my hands on the video cases, looking at the movie posters on the walls, and overhearing peoples conversations about how Scorsese is better than Kubrick. With the invention of the internet and streaming videos, those days of going to the physical video store are long gone. Now we can cruise through every movie ever made without getting off of our couches. Heck, some people are even watching new releases as soon they are released in the theatre. With all of these opinions at our fingertips, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with options — and not know what is watch worthy. So, here’s my guide to the 10 series on Netflix that are worth your time.
It’s the first chilly day here in a while, so I figured that it would be a great time to share this delicious easy Vegan Miso Ramen. My family and I tore this dish up, especially my son Jaden. He loves noodles and miso.

I got a chance to style and model for Aro’s latest Holiday Look Book. It was super fun to collaborate with my friend Leslie who owns the Aro store here in Austin! Aro is a jewelry store full of beautifully curated pieces from independent jewelry designers from around the world. And just in time for the holidays she is giving my readers a special holiday discount of 20% off of their purchase up until 12/23 by using the code: holidaze. You can shop any of the pieces from the latest look book plus a ton more jewelry, home, clothing, and bags at her online shop ARO! I already treated myself, I couldn’t help it! Hope you enjoy!
If you’ve followed me on my other blog Urbanbushbabes.com since Cipriana and I started it back in 2011, then you know I’ve tried and have written about pretty much every oil there is. So with my new 100% natural handcrafted Apothecary line that I’ve started called Folie (Foh-lee) the french word for madness, you know I had to create a hair oil that’s amazing and holds up to my expectaions of what makes a great hair oil.
I’m back to cooking in my kitchen and I’ve got another delicious Indian recipe for you guys! Chicken Korma made with a creamy yogurt sauce. Another one of my faves and something you should put on your menu this weekend! I like to serve it with basmati rice and a side of oven roasted okra.
Today’s video is super special for me! Not only do I show you how to do a naturally scented DIY face/body mist, but I present my new apothecary line Folie! Folie (Foh-lee) is the french word for madness. My line is 100% natural and handcrafted in small batches by me! I’m committed to bringing you the healthiest hair and skincare products possible.
“The Knick” is an edgy modern take on a medical drama set in New York City in the 1900’s
I didn’t really want to watch The Knick. My wife and I are serial Netflix series binge-watchers (addicts if you will). We find ourselves watching anything that receives critic accolades and we can get our hands on. So when I read the synopsis of The Knick while flicking through Netflix, I wasn’t enthusiastic about watching it. I’m not huge fans of period pieces (let alone medical drama’s) but the show has received critic mentions so I thought it would be (at least) worth giving it the “let’s watch the first episode” try. I’m so excited to share the shoot I did for Miranda Bennett Studio. Her minimalist design speaks to my aesthetic. I love the textiles she uses like silk and gauze along with the gorgeous colors that the all natural dyes create. I’ve also had the pleasure of getting to know Miranda and creating a new friendship in the process. She is so sweet and down to earth, which makes me support her even more!
